Artists are also influencers!
Artists are also influencers but Some Nigerian artists are mostly concerned about their pockets and showing us the Benz logo (lógò Benz)
The country is full of different types of people who are triggered by anything these artists put out. These people are the average Nigerian primary and secondary school students, the university undergraduates who are still trying to figure out what to do to survive in this hard country. But the self-proclaimed voice of the street Olamide decided to flex his influence hitting us with the lowest line of the year on the track logo Benz by Lil Kesh and himself, like kids enjoying a game of Whack-a-mole
“If I no get money , I go do ritual”
Just like every human is wired, he tweeted this otiose lines either to justify his lyrics or to serve as a catalyst to the damage already done to the minds of his fans.
Logo Benz is for the 3rd party to have a glimpse into the current state of youths in our society. (Runs girls x runs boys) “ I’m not sure if there’s anything like 2 much awareness, but pardon me if there is. It’s all over the news, it’s always been in movies, don’t box musicians.

Examples of songs that create awareness on social vices and problems are; Fire on the mountain by Asa ,ponmile by Reminisce, jagbajantis by Sound sultan, This is Nigeria by Falz. Logo Benz is galaxies away from this list.
Days before the track logo Benz was dropped this happened and I guess it’s safe to say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
So i talked about how offensive the lyrics of a particular song was, and the whole ybnl mafia came out to throw insults
In your opinion, should we be encouraging songs with lines like
“at this your age se ko ye ko ma ti ra benz ni? at this your age, se ko ye ko ma ti se yahoo?” pic.twitter.com/EN7nVGm6yG

Artists when your music is played in the next 5 years what do you want to be remembered for?
its time these artists need to be held responsible and realize their lyrics influence people
I am Abimbola lover of good music and I love to write about it also a student, social media manager, creative thinker and content creator.
